Plein-Air
Oils
In the autumn of 1998 Terry Firkins shadowed a Northwest Iowa farmer for the better part of two months to capture in paint the poetry of Harvest in the heartland of America. Of the more than 75 canvases painted during that period, 45 will be on display in a special exhibition of Firkins’ homage to the noble work of the nation’s small farmer. Though he has since evolved from plein aire painter to become a nationally-recognized abstract expressionist, Firkins is proud to show this work that harkens back to an earlier period in his career.
